Remember to be at our CANOAS ORIENTE Arriondas location about 5 minutes before the scheduled time with everything ready to go to the river. We'll call you there by your reservation name. If you've forgotten anything, don't worry; at our location, you'll find everything you need to go down the river and enjoy the day: water shoes, hats, waterproof phone cases, cold drinks, Asturian cider, and local produce to prepare your own picnic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We are waiting for you\u00a0our Arriondas office at the hour<\/strong>\u00a0that you chose when making your reservation. We recommend arriving a few minutes early with everything you need to start the activity.<\/p>\n

    You can leave your belongings in your vehicle or in our lockers* and we will return you to this location at the end of the descent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    At our office, we'll give you your life jacket, along with a waterproof container where you can store everything you need to take during the trip without risking it getting wet. The waterproof container is the canoe's trunk for storing things you don't want to get wet: your cell phone, a towel, some money in case you want to grab a bite at the beach bars, sunscreen, etc.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    3rd We're going to the river!<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

    Our offices are next to the classic Sella Descent start! We'll walk you to the shore.<\/p>\n

    There, they'll give you your paddle and canoe and explain in detail the basic techniques (moving forward, turning, braking, etc.) and safety precautions. If you still have questions, they'll be happy to answer them. Just ask!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    4th The Descent is already underway<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

    You can enjoy your chosen route at your leisure, stopping to eat, swim, visit a beach bar, and take photos.<\/p>\n

    You will have between 2 and 4 hours to complete it, which you will find to be enough time.<\/p>\n

    You choose whether you want to descend like a professional canoeist, breaking records as if you were being chased by a wild salmon, or whether you prefer to stop and enjoy the scenery, both leisurely and entertaining.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Is the descent of the Sella dangerous?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

    No, descending the Sella River is not dangerous, but you need to pay attention to several important issues, as this is a rental activity in a vibrant natural landscape.<\/p>\n

    The Sella canoe descent is not a simple boat ride. You must carefully heed the recommendations of the qualified instructors at the beginning of the activity. The activity is not dangerous, but don't forget that\u00a0you are in the natural environment<\/span>\u00a0and you will encounter currents, rocks, tree branches and, just like you, there are hundreds of canoes with inexperienced people trying to do the same thing.<\/p>\n

    It's best to go slowly, not jump into the water from a height without knowing the depth, and not get out of the canoe without first approaching the shore. If you capsize, don't worry; the life jacket (mandatory) helps you float. From there, calmly pick up your paddle and water bottle (in case you've fallen in), and allow yourself to be carried to the nearest shore. Don't try to swim vigorously, as it will be of little use and you could hit your feet on a rock. The most dangerous thing is to become nervous, so try to remain calm in any stressful situation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    What do I have to bring?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

    The most important thing: I'm looking forward to an unforgettable day!<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. For online reservations, please bring your printed or screened ticket along with the ID of the person in whose name the reservation was made. If you have any questions, please remember that you can always call us and we will assist you by phone.<\/li>\n
    2. If you booked by phone or in person, you can pay just before the activity begins, either by cash or card.<\/li>\n
    3. Swimwear or wet clothes, a t-shirt, and comfortable shoes (preferably secure) that can get wet because, even if you don't want to, it's easy to get wet or even fall into the water.<\/li>\n
    4. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a towel to dry off or simply sit on the riverbank you like best.<\/li>\n
    5. For slightly cool days, a raincoat or windbreaker is best.<\/li>\n
    6. A change of clothes in case you want to change after the activity. You can leave them in your car or in the lockers available at our facilities.
      \nYou'll also be able to take a nice hot shower after the activity (ask about COVID restrictions).<\/li>\n
    7. Toiletry bag<\/li>\n
    8. You can bring more food and drinks if you like, or purchase the picnic on the day, but above all, keep in mind that it must fit into the watertight container, which has a capacity of approximately 24 liters.<\/li>\n
    9. There are snack bars and drinks along the Sella, so don't forget to bring some cash.<\/li>\n
    10. And although we don't recommend using technology while descending, you'll definitely want to at least have a cell phone with you to take some photos or call us if you need to.<\/li>\n
